Create a Reliable Pickup Handoff

A clear handoff prevents the end of a session from becoming a guessing game. Children, caregivers and program staff should know the same pickup arrangement.

When to use it

Use this when more than one adult collects your athlete or a venue has several exits.

Put It into Practice

  1. Ask the program where supervised pickup happens and how authorized collectors and last-minute changes must be recorded through its established process.
  2. Tell your athlete the named pickup person and meeting point; practice staying with designated staff if the expected adult is delayed.
  3. Store the program contact where caregivers can find it, then confirm changes directly with the responsible adult rather than through another child.

What It Can Look Like

An aunt collects on Thursdays; her authorization is recorded beforehand, and the athlete waits inside the supervised entrance instead of searching the parking lot.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: Use the program's actual procedure and avoid putting names, schedules or pickup details in public team posts.
