Make the first partnership meeting useful.
Make the First Partnership Meeting Useful.
Find a shared need before building an offer.

Understand the Other Organization
Ask whom they serve, what matters this season and what they are already doing. Listen for constraints such as timing, staff capacity, space or decision-making requirements. Avoid assuming money is the only useful contribution.
Define the Opportunity Together
Describe a specific program or activity and who it would serve. Separate what is known from what is proposed. Do not promise reach, outcomes or recognition that you have not verified you can deliver.
Leave with a Next Step
Agree who will provide which information and by when. A good first meeting may lead to a scoped proposal, a useful introduction or a decision that the fit is not right. Record the status accurately; interest is not a signed commitment.
Make It Useful.
Write your own next step. These notes stay in this page and are not saved or sent; print before leaving if you want to keep them.
