Reset After the Last Play.

A short routine for returning attention to the next useful action.

Legacy North editorial draft · October 2026

Name What Happened, Briefly

A missed shot is an event, not a description of who you are. Say what happened in plain words—“That pass was late”—without building a story about being a bad player.

Choose a Physical Cue

Take a comfortable breath, release your shoulders or bring your eyes back to the court. Pick a cue you can use while staying aware of play. You do not need to force calm or pretend you are not frustrated.

Give the Next Play a Job

Choose one action: find your player, communicate on defence, create a passing angle or sprint back. Practice the routine during ordinary sessions so it is familiar when the game feels harder. If distress keeps affecting life beyond sport, talk with a trusted adult or qualified professional.

Make It Useful.
