For Boys and Girls in Kindergarten to Grade 5
Bastion Elementary – Salmon Arm
Wednesdays, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

$180 per participant for 6 sessions.

Build skills, have fun, and grow confidence—on and off the court!

Legacy North FUNdamentals Basketball for Beginners is a 6-session series designed for boys and girls in Kindergarten through Grade 5. We focus on helping young athletes build foundational basketball skills through fun, fast-paced games, and hands-on instruction.

Created by experienced former collegiate & pro players, and current high school coaches.

Led by current high school players for maximum connection with our youth.

This unique approach ensures kids learn the game in a positive, supportive environment—with role models they can relate to and be inspired by.

Each session includes active warm-ups, skill stations, team challenges, and a short mental performance focus to help kids grow confidence, focus, and resilience.

No experience needed. All skill levels welcome!

Week 1 – Dribble & Discover (May 7)

Ball control, dribbling basics, movement games
Mental Skill: Confidence through repetition

Week 2 – Pass with Purpose (May 14)

Partner passes, relay games, moving without the ball
Mental Skill: Encouragement & teamwork

Week 3 – Shoot Your Shot (May 21)

Shooting form, footwork, and fun accuracy games
Mental Skill: Growth mindset—“mistakes help us grow”

Week 4 – Move & Groove on Defense (May 28)

Defensive stance, lateral movement, energy games
Mental Skill: Focus & listening skills

Week 5 – Finishing at the Rim (June 4)

Layups with both hands, backboard usage, short shots
Mental Skill: Positive self-talk

Week 6 – Game Time & Celebration (June 11)

Mini-games, obstacle courses, scrimmages, awards
Mental Skill: Celebrating progress & effort

What to Bring:

  • Indoor shoes

  • Water bottle

  • Positive energy!
