Own the Next Step After a Missed Commitment

Respond constructively when you miss a session or responsibility.

When to use it

Use when you have let someone down or communication did not happen as planned.

Put It into Practice

  1. Contact the appropriate person through the approved channel. State what happened and any practical information they need without inventing an excuse.
  2. Ask what you need to catch up on and acknowledge any effect on the group. If the cause was outside your control, ask for help with the barrier.
  3. Agree on one realistic adjustment for next time. Do not promise perfect attendance when transport, health or family circumstances remain uncertain.

What It Can Look Like

A player explains a transport cancellation and asks how future changes should be communicated.

Take it with you: Responsibility includes honest communication and asking for support with real barriers.
