Check a Promise Before You Publish It

A program promise creates an expectation someone must deliver. Review ambitious wording against confirmed capability so communication reflects what families can reasonably count on.

When to use it

Use this before publishing an announcement, sponsorship offer or recruitment message.

Put It into Practice

  1. Underline every promise about access, staffing, outcomes, dates or support, and identify the person and evidence that make each commitment deliverable.
  2. Replace uncertain claims with accurate conditional wording or remove them until confirmed; distinguish an aspiration from an available service and a measured result.
  3. Ask the responsible delivery lead to review the final version, then keep a record of commitments that require follow-through after publication.

What It Can Look Like

A draft promises transport for every participant, but leaders confirm only a limited arrangement and rewrite the offer to explain availability and the contact process.

Take it with you: Accurate promises protect relationships by aligning public expectations with what the organization has actually arranged and can responsibly sustain.
