Check Capacity Before Opening Registration
A successful announcement can create a delivery problem if the program has not checked its real capacity. Count the people, space and support that are actually available.
When to use it
Use this before offering additional places or adding another session to the calendar.
Put It into Practice
- List the confirmed venue, staffing, supervision requirements, equipment and administrative support for each session; mark assumptions separately from secured resources.
- Identify the limiting factor and set a capacity that fits the program's requirements and participant needs, using qualified guidance where applicable.
- Assign someone to monitor changes and define when registration must pause; communicate a waiting option without promising a place before capacity exists.
What It Can Look Like
A program has enough balls for another group but lacks confirmed supervision, so it waits to release places until the staffing arrangement is complete.
Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.
Take it with you: Capacity is a delivery commitment, not simply the number of people who can physically fit inside the gym.
