Create an Equipment-Lending System

Equipment lending can reduce participation barriers when borrowing is simple and returns are manageable. Design the process around access, care and a clear contact for problems.

When to use it

Use this when a program has shared balls, shoes or other suitable equipment available.

Put It into Practice

  1. Inventory the items, check their condition through the appropriate process and decide which can be lent, by whom and for how long.
  2. Create a proportionate checkout record with only necessary details, explaining return arrangements and how to report loss or damage privately without embarrassment.
  3. Review stock and recurring issues regularly, budgeting for ordinary wear and avoiding public lists that identify families using assistance or borrowed gear.

What It Can Look Like

A coordinator offers loan balls through the same welcome desk for anyone who needs one and records returns privately at the end of the session block.

Take it with you: A lending system should make participation easier while keeping equipment responsibility clear and avoiding shame when practical problems arise.
