Make a Weather-Day Decision Early

A rural drive can require a different decision from the one made near the gym. Separate the organizer's session status from your household's travel circumstances.

When to use it

Use this when weather or road conditions could affect getting to and from basketball.

Put It into Practice

  1. Check current official travel information and the program update before departure; do not assume an open gym means every family's route is suitable.
  2. Choose the responsible adult who will make the travel decision and tell the athlete how an absence will be reported if you cannot attend.
  3. Notify the program promptly through its attendance route and confirm any changed pickup plan; avoid making a child argue that the trip is worth the risk.

What It Can Look Like

A session continues in town, but a family on a different route stays home after checking conditions and sends one clear attendance message.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: Missing a session because the journey is unsuitable should remain an adult logistical decision, not a test of commitment.
