Be Respectful When Things Go Your Way

Practice winning in a way you can stand behind later.

When to use it

Use after a strong game, an easy run or a selection success.

Put It into Practice

  1. Acknowledge opponents, officials and teammates according to the event’s expectations. Keep celebration separate from taunting, public comparisons or humiliating clips.
  2. Name specific contributions from other people. Remember the player who helped prepare the group, not only the people who scored.
  3. Review one learning point while enjoying the result. Ask what you can repeat next time rather than assuming success means there is nothing left to practice.

What It Can Look Like

A player celebrates the win and thanks a teammate for communicating a difficult defensive assignment.

Take it with you: Respect and enjoyment can exist together.
