Keep Something That Is Yours Outside Sport

Make room for interests and relationships beyond basketball.

When to use it

Use when every conversation about you seems to become a performance review.

Put It into Practice

  1. Name an activity, interest or relationship you enjoy without needing to improve a basketball outcome. It can be simple and inexpensive.
  2. Find a realistic place for it in your week. Talk with your family about commitments rather than adding another demanding goal to an already full calendar.
  3. Notice whether you are allowed to enjoy it without tracking progress. Protect that space from becoming another competition or public content project.

What It Can Look Like

A player keeps time to draw, walk with a family member or play a casual game with friends.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: Being an athlete is part of who you are, not the whole of it.
