Tell Someone When the Load Feels Too Much

Use clear words to ask for support before struggling alone.

When to use it

Use when sport, school or other pressures feel difficult to manage.

Put It into Practice

  1. Choose a trusted adult and a suitable time. Describe what is becoming difficult in your day rather than trying to diagnose yourself.
  2. Ask for one immediate form of support: help reviewing commitments, a conversation with the coach or assistance finding appropriate professional support.
  3. Agree on a follow-up. If your first attempt is dismissed, speak to another trusted adult; you do not have to earn support through performance or visible crisis.

What It Can Look Like

An athlete tells a parent that travel and school deadlines are leaving them overwhelmed and asks to review the schedule together.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: Asking for help is a practical action, not a failure of toughness.
