Make a Promise You Can Keep
Build trust through one small, clear commitment.
When to use it
Use when you want to be more dependable to your group.
Put It into Practice
- Choose a commitment that belongs to you and fits your role. Make it observable, such as bringing the shared checklist rather than “being a better leader.”
- Tell the right person what you will do and when. Check that the commitment does not conflict with school, transport or responsibilities you cannot control.
- Follow through or communicate early if the plan changes. If you miss it, acknowledge the impact and agree on the next step without making a bigger promise to compensate.
What It Can Look Like
A player agrees to check the team notice before departure, then does it consistently.

Take it with you: Trust grows from realistic follow-through, not impressive promises.
