Repair a Moment You Regret
Take responsibility after an unkind comment or disrespectful action.
When to use it
Use when you recognize that your behaviour affected someone else.
Put It into Practice
- Name what you did without adding a reason that shifts blame. If safety is involved, tell the responsible adult and follow the program’s process.
- Offer a direct apology at an appropriate time and ask whether there is a practical repair you can make. Do not demand immediate forgiveness or a public response.
- Choose a behaviour you will change and follow through. Repeated harm needs adult support and accountability, not repeated apologies with no change.
What It Can Look Like
A player who mocked a missed shot apologizes and stops sharing the clip rather than explaining it was “just a joke.”
Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.
Take it with you: A repair is measured partly by what you do afterwards.
