Set a Boundary in the Team Chat

Keep digital communication useful and respectful.

When to use it

Use when messages spill into every hour or the tone becomes uncomfortable.

Put It into Practice

  1. Read the program’s communication rules with a parent or guardian where appropriate. Identify the official channel for important notices and who moderates it.
  2. Choose a practical boundary, such as checking routine updates at agreed times. Do not assume you must respond instantly to every non-urgent message.
  3. If content is threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate, use the reporting process and seek adult help. Do not forward harmful content widely or handle a safeguarding concern alone.

What It Can Look Like

A family agrees when to check team notices while keeping the coach’s urgent logistics contact clear.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: Belonging to a team does not require being available online all the time.
