Track an Effort You Actually Control
Make progress visible without inventing a perfect-performance target.
When to use it
Use when your goal depends mostly on selection, scoring or someone else’s decision.
Put It into Practice
- Identify the action behind the desired outcome. Replace a roster guarantee with a controllable practice or communication habit you can discuss with your coach.
- Choose a modest way to notice the action: a short note or a check after the session. Avoid counting so much that it distracts you from playing.
- Review whether the action is useful, not only whether you completed it. Adjust the plan with coaching when the habit no longer serves your learning.
What It Can Look Like
A player tracks whether they ask one clear learning question each week rather than demanding a selection result.
Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.
Take it with you: A controllable goal supports development while leaving outcomes uncertain.
