Use a Wall Safely and Purposefully

Turn a simple space into a focused passing activity.

When to use it

Use when you have permission to practice but no full court or partner.

Put It into Practice

  1. Ask an adult about a suitable space, surfaces and nearby people. Check that the activity will not damage property or send a ball into traffic.
  2. Choose a visible target and an appropriate distance. Practice a controlled pass and receiving position rather than chasing speed or counting every attempt.
  3. Change one variable with guidance: target height, distance or receiving position. Stop if the space becomes unsafe and bring questions about technique to your coach.

What It Can Look Like

A player uses a permitted gym wall and focuses on receiving the returning ball with balance.

Take it with you: Limited equipment can still support learning when the task and setting are suitable.
