Build a Practice You Can Shorten

Gym bookings, transport and community events can change a session at short notice. A flexible plan keeps the learning coherent when you lose fifteen minutes. Decide what matters most before you arrive, so the shorter version still feels intentional.

When to use it

Use when gym access is uncertain or your session follows another booking.

Put It into Practice

  1. Label each activity essential, useful or optional. Keep the essential list to an arrival routine, the main learning game and a brief closing check.
  2. Write a shorter version beside every useful activity. Preserve time to explain transitions, offer water and finish safely rather than rushing everything.
  3. If time changes, tell athletes what you are keeping and why. Afterward, note whether the essential game gave enough attempts to revisit next session.

What It Can Look Like

A passing session loses its second drill but keeps the three-on-three game where athletes practice finding space and discuss one useful decision.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: A shorter session can still have a clear beginning, purpose and finish.
