Make a Demonstration Visible to Everyone
A technically clear demonstration still fails if athletes cannot see it. Think about where people stand, what they need to notice and how you will describe the action. Good positioning can reduce repeated instructions and frustration.
When to use it
Use before demonstrating a new movement, rule or station setup.
Put It into Practice
- Gather athletes where they can see the relevant space without blocking one another. Check sightlines from the edges and offer a closer view when needed.
- Demonstrate at a useful speed and narrate the key decision in plain words. Show the starting point and the finish, not only the most impressive part.
- Invite a brief walk-through or a question before the full activity. Provide another explanation format when someone needs it rather than repeating the same demonstration louder.
What It Can Look Like
The coach turns the passing demonstration so the group can see the defender and explains why the passing lane opens.
Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.
Take it with you: Access to the explanation is part of access to the activity.
