Build a Family Season Agreement
Put the practical expectations of a season on one page before different assumptions become arguments. Let your athlete help decide what a workable commitment looks like.
When to use it
Use this before registering or when the household schedule changes during a season.
Put It into Practice
- List school, work, caregiving and travel commitments together; mark the evenings that are already full before adding basketball.
- Ask your athlete which parts they want to own, then assign transport, payment reminders and equipment responsibilities to named adults.
- Agree on one review date and a simple way to flag overload; changing the plan should not require a crisis.
What It Can Look Like
A family agrees to two sessions weekly, one shared packing checklist and a Sunday schedule check; the athlete chooses whether to add optional practice.
Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.
Take it with you: Keep the agreement visible and revisit it when real life changes, rather than treating it as a test of loyalty.
