Create an Equipment Landing Zone
A small, consistent place for basketball equipment reduces repeated searches and arguments. Build the system with your athlete so it suits the way they actually prepare.
When to use it
Use this when missing shoes, bottles or uniforms regularly delay departures.
Put It into Practice
- Choose one accessible storage spot and list only the items needed for the program; avoid buying organizers before trying a simple shelf or bag.
- Let the athlete arrange the items and make a short check card, with an adult handling tasks that are not age-appropriate or safe.
- Test the arrangement for two sessions, then remove unnecessary steps; agree on one reminder rather than repeatedly asking if everything is packed.
What It Can Look Like
An athlete places shoes beside the bag, puts the washed uniform on top and checks the card before bed; a caregiver confirms the departure time once.
Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.
Take it with you: A useful system replaces repeated prompting with a visible next action and can be adjusted without blaming the person using it.
