Share Responsibility Across Households

An athlete moving between households should not have to coordinate competing adult systems. A shared practical plan can reduce forgotten details while respecting each household's privacy.

When to use it

Use this when caregivers in different homes share basketball responsibilities.

Put It into Practice

  1. Agree on one approved route for official program updates and identify who handles each session's transport, equipment and payments; keep unrelated family matters separate.
  2. Create a short shared schedule with only the information needed for participation, and confirm how changes reach both the program and relevant caregivers.
  3. Review recurring problems directly between adults and adjust the plan; do not ask the athlete to relay disagreements or report on another household.

What It Can Look Like

Two households agree that the program bag travels with the athlete on a set day and that the collecting adult confirms any transport change directly.

Take it with you: A coordinated plan supports participation without requiring identical households or making the young person responsible for adult communication.
