Use a School-and-Sport Pinch-Point Map

Look ahead for predictable crowded weeks so your athlete does not discover every deadline at once. The aim is a workable plan, not perfect productivity.

When to use it

Use this when exams, family events, performances or travel overlap with basketball commitments.

Put It into Practice

  1. Mark the next four weeks with major school tasks and non-negotiable family commitments; let your athlete decide which details they want to share.
  2. Circle the busiest week and identify one basketball adjustment to discuss early, such as missing an optional session or changing transport.
  3. Assign one adult action and one athlete action, then review the map weekly without checking every assignment or turning it into surveillance.

What It Can Look Like

A family notices a tournament beside a school project deadline and checks the optional travel commitment early, protecting time the athlete needs to complete their work.

Your notes stay on this page. They are not saved or sent. Print before leaving to keep a copy.

Take it with you: Planning ahead should reduce last-minute pressure while leaving age-appropriate responsibility and privacy with the athlete.
